YFU in Ukraine YFU-Ukraine is a non-profit organization founded in 1992. It managed to survive the difficult period in Ukraine’s economic and political development in the nineties due to the commitment of the staff and dedicated volunteers. Today UFU-Ukraine is oriented towards expanding its activity with the aim to promote the ideas of international exchange.

Host families and placement. Currently all students are placed in Kiev, where the National Office is located. Most of the host families have children attending the same high school as exchange students.

Exchange activities for inbound students. Students attend an arrival orientation in Kiev during which they are introduced to the Ukrainian culture, school system, spoken and unspoken behavior rules, family lifestyles. Students are invited to participate in YFU-Ukraine activities during selection of candidates for next year program cycle.

The program fee includes a sightseeing tour in Kiev, a tour of Pyrohovo Outdoor Folk Architecture Museum, visiting the Opera and Ballet Theater and a 3-day trip to Western Ukraine during school vacation in November.
