Volunteers throughout the YFU international community participate for many different reasons, including the opportunity to:

• Expand horizons beyond their individual lives and community;
• Gain new personal and professional skills and perspectives through regular trainings in interpersonal communication, leadership, conflict resolution, marketing and others;
• Share their culture and learn about others;
• Directly impact the lives of young people, their families and communities;
• Improve cultural awareness and international understanding;
• Make new friends with other YFU volunteers, staff, educators and participants from a wide variety of backgrounds.
