If you are considering hosting a YFU exchange student, there are several steps to take before this can happen. YFU host families come in all shapes and sizes. Some host families have young children, others’ children have already moved out. Some host families don’t have children at all. Whether you are a single parent, a retired couple or busy person living on your own, you can apply to welcome a YFU student to your home.

YFU places thousands of students with volunteer host families year round. Most students begin their journey in July-August (for an academic year or semester). Others begin their programs in December-January (for an academic year or semester). Still others participate in short-term educational programs.
